From time to time the editors or management of Florida Merchants Network will be inspired to write a review about a particular business for one reason or another. It might be due to the quality of service, a unique product, a significant contribution to the community, a particularly interesting approach to business, or any number of things.
We’re hopeful that most reviews are positive, but in keeping with our mission to provide useful consumer information we’re not above grumbling if something annoys us. (We will always take our complaint to the business first, and offer an opportunity for fair resolution prior to making a negative assumption.)
Although we think that every business should be a member of FMN, reviews are not necessarily reserved for just FMN members. FMN also accepts and encourages reviews and comments from the public about their experiences with local businesses.
Every so often there is a business with owners so engaging that you just can’t help but tell everyone about them. Mail This, LLC, located at 2481 Del Prado Blvd. North, in Cape Coral, is just such a business, due to owners Marty and Jamie Murray. Mail This is a family business and the real boss of the operation is Mugsie Murray. You’ll here more about Mugsie later, but first here’s how Mail This came to be…
In the 1980's Marty and Jamie Murray were partners in a Ceramic Studio in New Jersey. At the same time Marty was a full time firefighter in Camden NJ. They found that they liked dealing with people and of course in that kind of business you get to know your customers well. The business grew to a point where other ceramic studios were coming to them for product, moving them into the wholesale business as well. Deciding that a major business expansion was not right for them at that time, the Murrays sold the business and looked toward a secure retirement.
After some time and Marty's “retirement” the Murrays moved to Florida, had their retirement house built and Marty started another full time job. The yearning for owning a business never went away. Jamie and Marty talked about it often and started checking out the local small businesses to get an idea for their future store. Looking at today's economic climate, they soon came to realize that their dream would be a gift store that had reasonably priced items and offered excellent customer service in a family atmosphere.
As they continued developing their idea, they wanted to make sure that they were able to provide something unique to their customer. Through their research, they determined that often their gift buyers would also have a need to ship the gift up north to family and friends. Why not provide those customers a one stop shop opportunity!
"So, like chocolate and peanut butter, we thought--pack & ship & gifts - and Mail This, LLC was born!"
Marty and Jamie have created a store of modern conveniences like color copies, Fed Ex services, Mail boxes and more, but with the old time pleasure one used to get from regular visits to the “general” store. The gift selection is unique, clever, and offers very nice quality at affordable prices. Best of all you have the convenience of taking your selections to the counter and saying, “Mail this.”
Now about Mugsie, who oversees everything at Mail This. Mugsie is on duty 6 days a week and though he isn’t very big, he doesn’t let anyone get away with any nonsense – that is, or course, unless you give him a puppy treat or toss one of his favorite toys for him. We highly recommend you stop by Mail This as say hello to Marty, Jamie and Mugsie, and all the staff at Mail This. Find out more about Mail This services at www.mailthisllc.com
